Where did Photoshop come from?

Adobe Photoshop was originally designed by two medical doctors, John S. Porras and John Chambers, for the Macromedia Creation Suite (MAS) in 1987. The first version was released on August 21, 1991 and the name Photoshop was inspired by the name of a designer tool they were using.

The early versions of Photoshop were expensive and aimed to compete with Adobe Illustrator. The founders wanted to make an image editing tool that was easy to use and had good quality images.

They improved the Photoshop technology over the next ten years and released four versions of Photoshop: version 1.0 (1995), version 2.0 (1996), version 3.0 (1999) and version 4.0 (2004).

Due to features being added to the user interface, as well as to speeding up its performance, it was released as a plugin for Microsoft Windows in 2000. Adobe released the first version of Photoshop for Windows as a stand-alone app in 2003.

The popularity of the Windows version of Photoshop was due to the seamless integration with Microsoft Office products and that allowed users to edit their documents.

Subsequently, Photoshop versions for other platforms including Mac OS X, Android, iOS and web-based applications were released as well.

In 2011, Adobe redesigned the interface and released Photoshop CS5. It consisted of a simplified user interface and an improved user experience. In 2015, Photoshop CS6 was released, featuring a new interface, features, and technical improvements.

Photoshop Elements is the latest version of Photoshop and was released in April 2013. It is the successor to Photoshop Classic as it was the last version of Photoshop that ran on Mac OS 9.

How does Photoshop work?

Like many other programs, Photoshop uses a graphics file format called a Photoshop File Format (PSD). The Photoshop File Format allows photos or other images to be stored in a PDF file.

You can open a PDF file in a program like Word, Excel, or PDFViewer and edit it. Then, when you save the image in a different format, such as JPG or PNG, the image will be saved with the format’s appropriate metadata.

Walking the dream

It’s been a good long time since I’ve walked down memory lane. Like Vegas, I didn’t really leave it for very long, but was glad to see that it was well-lived while there. But it was time to go back. And I had to start from scratch (my WIP just finished–I’m a fast finisher, after all).

So I entered the vein again and entered the WIPs, one by one. It’s not to say that I finished them all. Some of them I did. It’s just that it was a clear path, and I could read a good chunk of the path.

When I got back I also got back my face. I’ve been redone so many times that I was starting to wonder if I’d ever get to the original I’d seen (or thought I’d seen). But now I finally got back to the REAL ME and I got ME to relax a little bit.

And then I began to read blogs. People tell me that I can’t be a fan and not have one. But it’s not that at all. I just hate reading someone’s work and not commenting (there are a few exceptions). I mean, I can appreciate a good work and even make some comments, but no one knows me, so I really can’t judge it. Why do I need to judge the quality of someone’s work and suggest things? That’s not my job.

It was a nice experience to be able to read the posts. The way blogging is now, I can see different sides of people who are in a web-band. I can see them being very serious about it, and going as far as taking it as a serious career. I can also see them saying it’s nothing more than an ordinary hobby.
